Gambling Myths

Any type of gambling is considered as game of luck and chance. Odds and probability of winning, causes myths. These myths are nothing but superstitions.

 Some of the most common gambling myths are listed below:

Myth 1. In slot machines various strategies are used to be a winner. Play safe with the money is always the first advice given to the gamblers. Another advise is given to play with casino cards instead of casino meters, which is a myth as slot results are randomly generated.

Myth 2. Lotteries, the most common myth in this is to play with one's lucky number or some also use numerologists.

Myth 3. Wearing a fanciful hats by ladies is considered to be a good luck by horse racing betters.

Myth 4. Cheating is quite common in the gambling, for example, Reading cards, tampering dice etc. These all are ethically wrong, it should be stopped.

Myth 5. In Blackjack game, people give importance to the sitting arrangement thinking that this would make them win or lose a particular game, which is a myth.

Myth 6. Over valuing low probability high gain bets. There is a tendency to overvalue bets having a low probability of a big gain and to undervalue bets involving a relatively high probability of a small gain.

Myth 7. Misconceptions about the probability of success.

Myth 8. Religion and gambling. Some regard gambling as immoral and some think gambling on the festival day brings luck

Myth when considered as fun is harmless but if it becomes serious then it should be stopped completely.
